BACKGROUND + PERSONALITY (ORIGINAL CHARACTERS ONLY):

WORLD:
• Jo is from the year 2515 and humans (among other species) have long since colonized the moon. Earth is still around but largely inhabitable (although there are revitalization projects in the works all the time). She was born in Helix, which is an affluent, quiet, gated community on the moon. She resides in Eagan Hills, which is basically the Moon equivalent of Hollywood. Technology is everywhere, up to and including biogenetic engineering. It's equally as affordable and easy to get a bionic leg as it would be to undergo 2017's Botox injections, basically, and it's much more casual and overlooked in 2515 for a person to alter themselves than it is in the 2010s.

HISTORY:
• Joey's been undergoing physical changes for the better part of a decade. At thirteen, she had her teeth straightened. When she was fifteen, she had her eye color lightened from brown to green, preferring the contrast to her dark hair to match her mother's. For her sixteenth birthday, Joey's parents bought her a new nose. For her eighteenth, they paid for her to get her breasts enlarged. When she turned twenty, Joey got her three tattoos—the latter of which is semi-NSFW—and biogenetic hair extensions. Her parents have paid for all of these things, as her father is a surgeon and her mother is a lawyer; Jo comes from a very wealthy family and as an only child, she was terribly spoiled growing up. Luckily, that never really went to her head.

• In high school, Joey was at the top of her class, but came up just short of Valedictorian, losing out to someone with a matching 5.0 GPA who had perfect attendance while Jo had not.

• After graduating high school, Joey attended the Helix Academy, though she crammed two years of work into one year of schooling by doubling up her coursework, half in virtual classrooms and half independent study. She is one of the few graduates of Helix Academy in recent history who has been able to successfully accomplish this feat without her GPA suffering. She graduated with a 3.9, which looks less impressive next to her high school grade point average, but is actually still a low A.

• A childhood friend of Joey's had gone to Eagan Hills after graduation in search of production work. She'd managed to work her way up the ranks into the behind-the-scenes world and, when Joey finished her CNA, she moved to Eagan Hills to live with her friend, Ellie, and Ellie got her a job as a production assistant on a low-budget sitcom. The series, and therefore the job, didn't last terribly long, but the studio had liked her moxie and kept her around, shuffling her from show to show. She wound up working as a general production assistant on a few short films and a friend of a friend introduced her to Dave Trumann shortly after his break up with Jess. Joey and Dave were set up on a blind date and while the date went well, neither of them felt particularly romantically inclined to one another. They decided friendship was better and sooner than later they became thick as thieves.

• When Dave's schedule started to fill up more, he hired Joey on as his own personal assistant and handler. Her job is to keep his schedule and finances organized and in check, negotiate salary for paid appearances such as fan conventions and events, and help Dave prepare for scenes or auditions by reading lines with him. She's also often a go-for, hurrying off on coffee runs and the like. Joey also accompanies Dave to any events where he's booked to appear and she makes sure he gets from place to place on time. Anyone who's ever been to a Hunts! fan convention or a Hunts! panel at Comic-Con has probably seen Joey around a lot, as she escorts Dave to and from his hotel room, panels, photo and autograph ops, fan meet and greets, interviews, and to meals. She's the person who gives him a thumbs up or down when he's asked a question, indicating whether he's allowed to answer it, based on the subject matter (he doesn't have to answer questions about his personal life, for example, and isn't allowed to answer questions that would contain spoilers for the show's fans). It's been rumored more than once that she's his girlfriend and they both deny it when asked and ignore it otherwise, because to them, it's ridiculous. They're sibling-close friends; the idea of dating one another outside the first blind date is laughable.

PERSONALITY:
ORGANIZED:
It's part of Joey's job to be organized, but the reason she's so good at her job is because she's an organized person. One only needs to take one look at her home to see that for everything a place and everything in its place. Her movie collection is in alphabetical order by genre; her spice rack is alphabetized by type — sweet or savory — and size of the containers, and her bathroom is pristine because there's not a single thing cluttering the counters or the sides of the tub, as they're all in their appropriate places tucked away where easily and apprpriately accessible without getting in the way. One of her strengths is lists, especially the To Do variety, and she's seldom seen without her day planner in hand, which she keeps in a leather bound book as well as online; mostly because it's not just her schedule in there, it's also her boss's schedule, as she's a personal assistant to a television star.

DEPENDABLE:
Joey is punctual, organized, and completely reliable. She's had to be sent home from work more than once because she was so sick that she could barely stand up straight, but she still showed up with coffee in hand, ready to take on the fourteen hour day like a champion. Emotionally, she's a rock. If she's needed, she's always there. Joey's the kind of girl you can call at all hours of the night and she'll come pick you up from the bar when you're too drunk to drive, or stay up all night holding you while you cry about this thing or that. She'll be the first to console someone in need and the last to abandon them when they swear up and down that they're okay.

STUDIOUS:
At the age of nineteen, Joey completed a fastrack at Helix Academy and is a certified nursing assistant, although she didn't actually pursue this professionally, because an opportunity came up in Eagan Hills via a friend that she couldn't pass up. She's very intelligent (not genius level, but not far off) and she's a very hard worker. Most people take two to four years to complete their CNA classes and certification; it took Joey two semesters. She's well-read and loves nothing more than, on a day off, to sit out by the pool or curl up under a blanket with a good book.

CLUMSY:
This girl has two left feet. She can trip over thin air, it seems like, sometimes. At any given time, Joey's likely to have small bumps and bruises peppering her body from falls down the stairs or running into doors. It's a thing. She can't help it and it's part of her, so even though she's been tempted to change it via bionic devices with more automated control, she hasn't yet taken the plunge.

FRIENDLY:
In spite of the fact that Joey's really awkward and largely uncomfortable talking to new people, that doesn't stop her from enjoying the company of others, whether she knows them or not. She's the annoying kind of person who will strike up a conversation with you while standing in line at the bank. She's a sweet girl who means well and she has a really big heart. Once she's a friend, she will always be there for you and she'll give you her all.

WISH: I wish that Dave could get over Jess and be happy again.

FIT: Jo is a social butterfly by nature anyway, but she's gotten very good at dealing with people because it's literally her job to deal with people on her boss's behalf, most of the time. She enjoys making connections and making friends. She's also twenty-one, so she's trying to find out who she really is and the best way to do that is to meet new people and see how she can grow and change in new social circles. She's been living in the Eagan Hills bubble for a while now, it couldn't hurt to get other perspectives once in a while.

CONSENT: I don't really have canon evidence, but she's not the type of person to breach consent because, in her field, pretty much anything has the very real potential of being a lawsuit waiting to happen and her sensitivity to that is pretty intense because it's part of her job.

POWERS/ABILITIES: Jo's gone through nursing school, even though she ended up taking another path, so she has the knowledge that comes with that. She's incredibly organized (almost to obsession, because again, job), and her biogenetic hair extensions sort of work like extra arms. They're still hair extensions, though, so anything over 32oz in weight, they can't really hold up. They're mostly just useful as extensions of herself, so to speak, maybe for hanging onto a small handbag or a cup of coffee, or unlocking her apartment when her hands are full; that sort of thing.
